Certifications Food & Safety Standards

Vancouver Craft Services

At Vancouver Craft Services, safety, professionalism, and proper food handling are at the core of everything we do.
To ensure the highest standards on every production set, we maintain industry-recognized certifications in emergency medical response and food safety.

Below you will find a clear explanation of the certifications we hold and what they mean for our clients and crews.

🩺 OFA Level 3 — Occupational First Aid Level 3

OFA Level 3 (Occupational First Aid Level 3) is the highest level of workplace first-aid certification in British Columbia.
It is issued by WorkSafeBC-approved training providers and is typically required for remote, high-risk, or industrial environments — including film and TV production sets.

What this certification means:

  • Advanced emergency medical response training
  • Ability to manage serious injuries and medical situations
  • Knowledge of workplace health & safety regulations
  • Ability to provide care in remote or logistically difficult locations
  • Training in trauma management, including:
    • fractures
    • burns
    • spinal injuries
    • severe bleeding
    • medical shock
    • respiratory issues
  • Ability to stabilize patients until professional medical care arrives

Why this matters on film sets & craft service environments:

Production environments involve long hours, equipment, cables, heat sources, and moving crew — all of which add risk.
Having an OFA Level 3–certified provider on set ensures:

✔ Immediate response in case of injury
✔ Proper risk management
✔ A safer workplace for cast and crew
✔ Compliance with WorkSafeBC safety expectations

Your safety is always our top priority.

🍽️ FOODSAFE Certification

FOODSAFE Level 1 & 2 are British Columbia’s official food safety and hygiene certifications.
They cover the essential practices required for anyone preparing or serving food in BC.

What FOODSAFE certification includes:

  • Safe food handling practices
  • Proper food storage and temperature control
  • Preventing food contamination
  • Allergen awareness
  • Personal hygiene standards
  • Cleaning and sanitization practices
  • Preventing food-borne illness

Why this is important for craft services:

On busy film sets, food is handled, transported, and served in constantly changing conditions.
FOODSAFE certification ensures that your food is always prepared and served:

✔ safely
✔ hygienically
✔ at the correct temperature
✔ in compliance with BC’s health regulations

This protects the entire team and ensures reliable, high-quality craft service throughout your production schedule.
